The Curate Group was created two years ago, borne out of our passion and enthusiasm for Japanese culinary culture. We are a boutique hospitality company that creates dynamic, timeless dining concepts that celebrate the art and joy of eating. Our brands have quality produce, respect of craft and thoughtful menus at their core, combined with personable service and attention to detail.

The entire concept of Bar Shake resonates the uniqueness of a typical Japanese Bar. The calmness of the dimly lighted wooden counters as well as the shelves helps elevates the experience of our guests to a whole new level. Unwind and be recumbent in the comfort of the space with a menu that serves a wide array of exemplar using only the finer spirits with an array of premium bottles to savour, from world renown distilleries in Japan. Should patrons ever have an uncommon palate and is in search for unprecedented cocktails, our resident bartender would do so with pleasure, curating exclusive drinks. We offer a relentless array of premium spirit that is extraordinary, from Japan with balances of innovation & tradition.

 

The list of drinks that are displayed on our menu here at Bar Shake allows our guests enjoy the wide range of beverages that we have to offer. A Chef’s Table experience by Chef Shaun. Hide is set to feed your imagination with a reactive, innovative and playful dining experience. Helmed by Chef Shaun, Malaysian-born and having wired at Michelin-starred restaurants including Le Bernardin (NY) and Kato (LA).

 

Hide serves a 14-course Tasting Menu, starting from RM650++ per person. An intimate space, the Chef’s Table counter seats up to 13 guests.

Soaring high up at the top of Naza Tower, allow us to introduce Sushi Sora. It features an eight-seater sushi counter that provides an edomae style sushiya experience to our great guests. The unique feature of this place is that it is located high up the into the sky which gives our guests an opportunity to have a bird’s eye view of our city beautiful skyline To maintain the authenticity outside of Japan, Sushi Sora uses only premium, and in-season produce. By doing so, it will further amplify the sushi experience intended for the guests by us.

Introducing the very first concept under The Curate Group, called Sushi Ryu. Located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur, this modern looking design of a sushiya has put itself as one of Kuala Lumpur most talked about and tremendous Japanese fusion dining experience. This beautifully designed interior of Sushi Ryu gives out a warm and calm sensation. It features a gleaming 12-seater sushi counter carved out of a dark hinoki cypress as well as two private rooms. At Sushi Ryu, we honour the traditional preparations of indigenous ingredients from the “Edomae” period with the bountiful luxuries of the new world. We curate exceptional plates with treasures of the water in pristine Japan & the unparallel aromas of the all-secretive fungi, truffles. A casual, chic tempura-centric restaurant headed by Chef Masanori Iwaasa, Tenmasa first opened its doors in November 2019. Sushi Masa by Ishibashi is an extension of Michelin star Chef Masakazu Ishibashi’s Edomae-style sushi restaurant first set up in Tokyo’s exclusive Ginza district. 

 

Bringing a tradition lost in time, a taste of the past flecked with innovation directly from Tokyo to Kuala Lumpur.
